Wanda Lea (White) Chase

Wanda Lea Chase, 92, passed away February 23, 2024 at Ridgewood Health Campus Lawrenceburg, IN. Wanda was born in Switzerland County, IN on April 16, 1931, the eighth child and daughter of the late Abbie (Lothridge) and Matthew White. Wanda was affectionately nicknamed “Baby Sis” by her older brothers. Wanda grew up and attended school in Switzerland County. On April 16, 1948, she was married to Harold Chase. The couple enjoyed over 63 years together until his passing on December 27, 2011. Wanda was a wonderful homemaker and was known for her special ability to bring joy to her family and to all she encountered. Wanda enjoyed gardening, playing card games and bingo, and had a fondness for animals.  

Wanda is survived by son Mark Chase (Connie) of Yorkville, IN; daughters Connie Carr of Harrison, OH and Patty Andres (Mark) of Harrison, OH; brother-in-law Jack Facemire of Gallipolis, OH; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda was preceded in death by sons Randy Chase and Mike Chase; brothers William White, Amie K. White, Tommy White, Jess White, Gerald “Bush” White, James “Jimmy Doc” White, Dick White, and Robert “Bobby” White; sisters Helen “Shy” Adams and Mary K. “Cappy” Facemire; and grandson Steven Carr. 

Visitation will be held Thursday February 29, 2024 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Markland Funeral Home. Funeral will be Thursday February 29 at 1 PM at the Markland Funeral Home with burial to follow at Vevay Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Alzheimer’s Association.
