Barbara Jean (Hunt) Gridley

Barbara Jean Gridley, 83, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 11:45 AM, Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019 at The Waters of Rising Sun. Barbara was born in Crab Orchard, KY on February 17, 1936, a daughter of the late Margaret (Johnson) and Clarence  Hunt. Barbara and her family moved to Switzerland County when she was young and later to Ohio County. She was the wife of William "Bill"  Gridley. On December 22, 1952, they were married at Grant's Creek Baptist Church. Bill and Barb were married over 66 years until her passing. She worked at the Vevay Shoe Factory for 32 years. Barbara loved to travel and enjoyed taking bus trips. Barbara is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Gridley, of Rising Sun, IN; by a brother-in-law, Tony Gridley, of East Enterprise, IN and by many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by by her parents, by her daughter, Lois Ann Neff in 2015, by her sister Daisy Klopp in 2018 and by an infant sister, Betty Hunt. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, May 28th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Eldon Fancher officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 27, 5-8 PM at Markland Funeral Home.
