Bula May (Lane) Walton

Bula May Walton, 99, of Ohio County, IN, passed away at 3:45 AM, Friday, August 17th, 2018 at Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg, IN. Bula was born in Casey County, KY on May 5, 1919, a daughter of the late Cynthia (Sinkhorn) and Lafe Lane. On June 25, 1938 she married Victor R. Walton in Aurora, IN at the St. John Lutheran Church parsonage. Bula and Victor were married over 58 years until his passing on November 15, 1996. Bula was a faithful and devoted member of the Aberdeen United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Bula enjoyed sewing, gardening and raising flowers. She also liked to bake and cook meals for her family and church functions. Bula was a loving mother to her children and beloved mama to her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Bula is  survived by five daughters, Judy Kirkpatrick and husband Norman, of Rising Sun, IN; Patsy Walcott and husband Bob, of East Enterprise, IN; Connie Riddell, of Dillsboro, IN; Vickie Althoff, of Lamb, IN and Cathy Curry and husband Greg, of East Enterprise, IN; by a son, Roger Walton and wife Cherie, of Milan, IN. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and by 6 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Victor, by brothers, Kelly, Wallace, Floyd,  Judd and Forrest Lane, by sisters, Neva Schwarz and Mable Lane, by a granddaughter, Sara Walton, by a son-in-law, Kenny Riddell and daughter-in-law, Sharon Walton.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Monday, August 20th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Friends are invited to call  Sunday 5-8 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Aberdeen United Methodist Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.  marklandfuneralhome.com
