Charles Robert Harrell
The love of my life peacefully passed Sunday, May 19th, while holding my hand at 3:00 PM on the dot. As his typical self, he was always on time, never late. As we left the hospital, there was a nice breeze and small storm. He loved storms, and I know he's home and healed perfectly.
Chuck was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on September 10, 1964, a son of James "Snorky" and Glenda (Coldwell) Harrell, of Moores Hill, IN. He was a graduate of South Dearborn High School, class of 1982 and went on to receive his Bachelors Degree from Mount St. Joseph University. Chuck proudly served his country in the US Air Force during Operation Just Cause in Panama and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Chuck married Erin Michelle (McKinley) Harrell on August 12th, 2000 at Bethel Unity Baptist Church. He was a member of the Moores Hill American Legion and later transferred to the Rising Sun American Legion. He was also former Vice President of the Shiner Pride Band Boosters. He loved the band and watching them perform. Chuck enjoyed watching college basketball and was an IU fan. He was a faithful member of the Rising Sun Church of Christ, and he loved spending time with his children and grandson. He was looking forward to the newest grandchild on the way. He loved life, his country, his family and his Lord. His family and friends will miss his giant personality.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Erin Harrell, of Rising Sun, IN; by his children, Zachary Harrell, of Cincinnati, OH, Abby Harrell, of Harrison, OH and Spencer Harrell, of Rising Sun, IN; by grandson Owen Schneider; by his parents, James "Snorky" and Glenda Harrell, of Moores Hill, IN; by his sister, Amy Harrell Johnson and fiancé Richard Powell, of Aurora, IN; by niece Katie Johnson; by nephew Corey Johnson; by father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Debbie McKinley, of Rising Sun, IN; by sister-in-law, Jana McKinley, of Rising Sun, IN and by many other aunts, uncles, family members and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 PM, Friday, May 24th at the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Friends are invited to call Thursday 5-8 PM at the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Burial with military honors will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the family or Rising Sun Church of Christ.
