Dorothy Louise (Hansmann) Lozier

Dorothy Louise Lozier, 93, of Lawrenceburg, IN, (formerly of Rising Sun)  passed away at 11:44 PM, Tuesday, February 26th, 2019 at Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg. Dorothy was born in Hamilton County, OH on February 10, 1926, a daughter of the late Virgie and Ferdinand  Hansmann.  She was a 1943 graduate of Taylor High School in Cleves, OH. Dorothy worked as a cook at Three Rivers School in Cleves. Dorothy married Lester Lozier on July 10, 1946. Dorothy and Lester were married over 41 years until his passing on October 23, 1987. Dorothy was one of the founding members of Dearborn Baptist Church in Manchester, IN. Dorothy loved to quilt and was a member of a quilting club at the church. Baby-sitting her grandchildren and spending time with her family were things she loved most. 

Dorothy is  survived by a daughter, Juanita Clark, of Rising Sun, IN; by a son, Paul Wayne Lozier and wife Brenda, of Atlanta, GA; by grandchildren: Richard Clark, Christopher Lozier, Melissa Fox & Rebecca Eldridge; by great grandchildren: Nick, Devan, Karla, Julianna, Lauren, Tyler, Samantha, Derrick & Ella, & by great great grandchildren; Khloe, Kelsi, Dylan & Nevelynn; by sisters, Betty, Ruby, Erma & Patsy, She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Lester, by a grandson, Matthew Lozier and by a son-in-law, Raymond Clark.

Funeral services will be 11 AM, Monday, March 4th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Darrell Sparks officiating. Friends are invited to call Sunday 4-7 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
