Dorothy Weise Obituary

Dorothy Mae Weise, 88, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 5:48 AM, Wednesday, March 6th, 2019 at The Waters of Rising Sun. Dorothy was born in Cincinnati, OH on August 22, 1930, a daughter of the late Ethel (Saunders ) Canter and Charles  Atkins. She grew up in the Cincinnati area and graduated high school from Western Hills. Dorothy was the widow of James Weise.  She formerly worked at Shillito's (Macy's) as a sales clerk in yard goods and furniture. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, sewing, hiking and tending to the flowers in her yard. Dorothy is  survived by a daughter, Velda  Miller and husband John, of Rising Sun, IN; by a son, Richard S. Weise and wife Toni, of Louisville, KY; by 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; by  sisters, Margaret Abendroth, of Glenwood, MO, Opal Atkins, of Cincinnati, OH and Nancy Stross, of Cincinnati, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband James Weise, by sister Mary Feller and by a brother Charles Atkins, Jr. Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
