Imogene (Dilts) Marsh

Imogene Marsh, age 93, of Rising Sun, IN passed away Monday, September 24, peacefully at her daughter's home. Imogene was born in Patriot, IN May 4, 1925, a daughter of Otis and Beatrice Dilts. She grew up in the Patriot area and attended Patriot High School, graduating in 1943. She was united in marriage to Emmett P. Dunaway in 1944 and four children were born to this union: Bill Dunaway (Kerri) of Rising Sun, IN; Jeff Dunaway (Amy) of Ross, OH; Larry Dunaway, who passed away in 2014 and his wife Nina of Burlington, KY and Wanda Dunaway of Rising Sun, IN. She has one surviving sister, Bonnie Gray of Florence, KY. Imogene was preceded in death by five siblings: Audrey Horton, Donald Dilts, Gayle Dilts, Ruth Peters and Gerald Dilts. She is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She kept up with birthdays and enjoyed their accomplishments. She married Harry Marsh in Addyston, OH in 1971. They were married until his passing in 1985. They shared between them nine children. They both were active in the VFW Post in Addyston for several years. They both liked cooking, family events and camping at Vevay, IN. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting.  Imogene was employed at the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, IN and also at Mount St. Joseph in Delhi, OH and Campbell Hausfeld in Harrison, OH where she retired in 1991.  Particularly during later years, Imogene was very consecrated with preparing to "Meet Thy God". She was devoted to the teachings of the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and was a Church Media member. She daily absorbed Study In The Word, Message of the Cross, Frances and Friends and Sunday and Wednesday services. She frequently spoke of Jesus holding her hand as her health deteriorated. She was sharp minded until the end. At Imogene's request, private family graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cleves, OH. Memorial donations may be made to any Veteran's organization of the donor's choice or to the Rising Sun Police Department.
