Marshall Alford Obituary

Marshall McKinley Alford, Jr. 72, of  Moores Hill, IN, passed away at 4:37 PM, Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 at Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg, IN. Marshall was born in Milan, IN on August 9, 1946, a son of the late Mary Lucille (Hubbard) and Marshall M. Alford, Sr. He was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1965. On October 9th, 1965 he married Darla  (Wallingford) Alford at Olive Branch Baptist Church in Bear Branch, IN. Marshall and Darla were married over 53 love filled years. He worked at the Alton Box Factory in Aurora for 14 Years, but he was a farmer his whole life. Farming was his true passion and he loved everything about it. Marshall was a 27 year member of the Dearborn County Soil & Water Conservation District Board. When it came to equipment, he was a John Deere man. Marshall loved talking with his friends (mostly about farming) and spending time with his loving family.

Marshall is  survived by his wife, Darla Alford, of Moores Hill, IN; by a daughter, Erin Coleen Alford, of Centerville, IN; by a son, Kevin Patrick Alford (Jane), of Moores Hill, IN; by grandchildren: Hanna (Brad Smoker), Emily, Sam, Kiana, Maryssa, Duncan & Isabella and by great grandchildren; Triston, Parker, Silas, Savannah & Ezra; by three sisters, Rebecca  Rimstidt, of Rising Sun, IN; Rachel Goolsby (Sonny), of North Garden, VA and Erma Siekman (Eric), of Rising Sun, IN; by two brothers, Morris Alford, Sr. (Judy), of Fairview, IN and David Alford, Sr., of Clarksville, TN; by an uncle, Lonnie Hubbard, of Mt. Siani, IN and by dear friends, Dwayne and Gladys. 
 
Visitation for Marshall will be 5-8 PM, Friday, December 21st at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. No other services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Cards are available at the funeral home. marklandfuneralhome.com
