Patricia Ruth (Cunningham) McMurray

Patricia Ruth McMurray, 78, of Patriot, IN, passed away at on Saturday, January 4th, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Patricia was born in Lamb, IN on February 18, 1941, a daughter of the late Pauline (Henderson) and Sam  Cunningham, Sr.. Patricia moved to Patriot at an early age and attended school there. Patriot would remain her home for the rest of her life. She was a homemaker and the wife of Harry McMurray. Patty and Harry shared a lifelong love.  Patricia was a faithful Christian and member of the Temple Baptist Church in Patriot. God's love showed through her genuine concern for others. Patricia enjoyed reading, gardening and tending to her flowers. She loved spending time with her precious family. Patricia was a loving wife, mom, mamaw, sister, aunt and friend to many. Her gentle spirit and kind heart will never be forgotten.  Patricia is survived by her husband, Harry McMurray, of Patriot, IN; by a daughter, Teresa (Don) Kolas, of Fairfield OH; by a son, Stephen  (Debbie) James, of Patriot, IN; by grandchildren: Logan "Bear" Kolas, Lauren "Angel" Kolas, Tony Kolas, Samantha Schnitzer, Mike Romans, Melinda Wright & Sam Romans and by eight great grandchildren. Patricia is also survived by a brother, Sam Cunningham, Jr., of Patriot, IN; by her beloved niece, Tasha (Rick) McElfresh, of Falmouth, KY; by her great nephew Thomas McElfresh and by extended family, Troy (Kim) Otter & family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and Sam Cunningham, Sr. and by her first husband Denver James. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Friday, January 10th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Russ Hobbs officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 5-7 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the Temple Baptist Church. Cards are available at the funeral home. marklandfuneralhome.com
