Paul William Rodgers, 78, of Aberdeen, IN, passed away on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg, IN. Paul was born in Milan, IN on March 16, 1941, a son of the late Ruth Lucille (Armstrong) and Stanley Wilford Rodgers. Paul grew up in the Aurora community and attended school there.
He worked as a boilermaker at I & M Power Plant Lawrenceburg, IN, and also at several other plants over the years. Paul was a member of the Hopewell Masonic Lodge in Dillsboro, IN. Paul married Clara (Boggs) Rodgers on February 15th, 1991. Paul and Clara were married over 28 years until his passing. Paul loved to play golf and go deer hunting. He was also an avid reader and history buff. Paul is survived by his wife, Clara Rodgers, of Aberdeen, IN; by a daughter, Penny Sue King (Clyde), of Cincinnati, OH; by four sons, Mark Rodgers (Kathleen), of West Palm Beach, FL, Tony Rodgers (Holly), of Manchester, IN, Kevin Rodgers (Sherrie), of Aurora, IN and Mike Rodgers (Shari), of Manchester, IN; by a step daughter, Julia Demaree, of Fairplay, CO; by a step son, John Kelly, of Rising Sun, IN; by 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, with one on the way; by a sister, Susan Roy, of Aurora, IN; by two brothers, Norman Rodgers, of Aurora, IN and Johnny Rodgers, of Boynton Beach, FL. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, by brothers, David Rodgers & Steven Rodgers, by a stepson Rusty Kelly and by a granddaughter, Kimberly Rodgers.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM, Wednesday, May 15th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Mike Jones officiating. Friends are invited to call Wednesday 11AM-1PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Aberdeen, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the Hopewell Masonic Lodge or American Cancer Society. Cards are available at the funeral home.
