Vickie Snyder Obituary

Vickie Lynn Snyder, 75, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 20th, 2018 at her residence. Vickie was born in Powellton, WV on April 7, 1943, a daughter of the late Mildred Geraldine (Jones) Bowen and Robert Lee Bowen, Sr. Vickie graduated from Montgomery High School in West Virginia. On October 12, 1977 she married Paul David Snyder, who survives her. Vickie worked as a hostess at Rising Star Casino, retiring in 2008. She also formerly worked for the City of Rising Sun. Vickie enjoyed cooking, collecting antiques and lounging by the pool. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Vickie is  survived by her husband, Paul David Snyder, of Rising Sun, IN; by four daughters, Tami Burd, of Aurora, IN; Kelly Thompson, of Henderson, NV; Lori Johnson, of Moores Hill, IN and Sara Snyder, of West Chester, OH; by two sons, Jon Robert Thompson, of Anderson Twp, OH and Aaron Paul Snyder, of Rising Sun, IN; by a brother, Robert Lee Bowen, Jr., of Charlton Heights, WV.  She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, William Thomas Bowen.

A memorial service will be held at 7 PM, Friday, August 24th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN.
Memorial donations may be made to a fund to provide care for her grandchildren in c/o of Sara (Snyder) Abbas. Cards are available at the funeral home. marklandfuneralhome.com
