Abby Dale Galbreath, 57, of Vevay, IN, passed away at 7:27 PM, Monday, August 16th, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Abby was born in Cincinnati, OH on January 3, 1964, a daughter of the late Helen Frances (Saltzman) and Elmer George Emmich. She was employed as a security guard at Dow Corning. On November 10, 2001, she was married to Ralph "Sonny" Galbreath. Abby was a member of Quercus Grove United Methodist Church and Vevay VFW Women's Auxiliary. Abby enjoyed many passions such as riding horses, gardening, crafting, caring for her cats, baking, especially her famous apple pie, feeding the hummingbirds, dancing, and loved all things water and wildlife related, supporting various charities, and eating Graeter's ice cream. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, coloring and having game nights with them.
In addition to her husband, Abby is survived by sons Ross Galbreath (Katie) of Vevay, IN, Alex Galbreath of Vevay, IN, and Max Galbreath (fiancé Kelsey Pettit) of Dupont, IN, daughter Evelyn Galbreath (Zach Westerfield) of Hanover, IN; step sons Robert Galbreath (Bridgot) of Vevay, IN and Jeff of Rising Sun, IN; step daughters Marlena Galbreath of Vevay, IN, Martina Rice (fiancé Jerry Attebery) of Vevay, IN, and Marea Henry (Doug) of Rising Sun, IN; her stepchildren's mother, Matilde Galbreath of Vevay, IN; sisters Debbie Mahan of Cincinnati, OH, Yvette Emmich (Tommy) of Vevay,IN. Denise Young (Charles) of Vevay, IN , and Trece Ellis of Cincinnati, OH ; grandchildren Allie, Emily, Oakleigh, Rhett, Zayven, Michelle, James, Desirae, Marty, Marissa, Mara, Joe, Gabriel, Samuel, Michael, Amelia, Elaineah, and Mason; great grandchildren Landon, Peyton, Declan, and Aria; as well as many nieces, nephews, and their children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by step son Marcus Galbreath.
A public visitation will be held Friday, August 20, 2021 from 5 - 8 PM at the Markland Funeral Home. Funeral will be Saturday, August 21 at 10 AM with burial to follow at the Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Wolf Sanctuary.
