Allan "Pedro" Dale Holland

Allan Dale “Pedro” Holland, 66, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away 2:58 AM, Thursday, April 6, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Edgewood in Edgewood, KY. He was born on December 21, 1956, a son of the late Kathleen May (Fleek) and Carlos Dale Holland. He was a graduate of the Rising Sun High School Class of 1974. Allan proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he was employed as a plumber. He attended the Rising Sun Church of Christ and was a member of the American Legion Post #59. Allan loved baseball, especially his Cincinnati Reds, and collected baseball cards and other sports memorabilia. He also enjoyed IU basketball, fishing, and playing softball.

Allan is survived by his sisters Teresa George (Shannon) of Hampstead, NC, Kathleen Steigerwald (Jeff) of Aurora, IN, and Laura Smart of Greendale, IN; and his nephews Tim George(Jessica) of Hampstead, NC, Kyle George (Andrea) of Fort Wayne, IN, Sherman Steigerwald of Cincinnati, OH, Tyler Steigerwald (Jenna) of Knoxville, TN, Brodi Steigerwald of Aurora, IN, Anthony Smart (Jessica) of Greendale, IN, and Gregory Smart of Bright, IN.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 10th, from 5 – 7 PM at the Markland Funeral Home. Funeral will be Tuesday, April 11th, at 11 AM with burial to follow at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rising Sun American Legion Post #59 or the Rising Sun Fire Department.
