Bernie Wallick

William Bernard "Bernie" Wallick was born in Cincinnati, OH on June 20, 1946, a son of the late Catheryn M. (Frazier) and Russell D. Wallick. Bernie grew up in Ohio County and attended Rising Sun High School. Bernie served his country in the Army Reserve and was a member of the Church of Christ. He retired from Argosy Casino where he worked in security. Bernie loved his community and served it any way he could. He was former Ohio County Civil Defense  Director, an Ohio County Special Deputy, former Ohio County Dispatcher and member of the Rising Sun Fire Department. Bernie enjoyed many hobbies and interests. He loved trains and was a member of The Conductors of Southeastern Indiana Model Train Association. He also enjoyed making models of semi trucks and monster trucks. Bernie pulled trucks with his friend Rodney Hannah and liked taking tractor rides with Adam Fox. He was a big Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy fan. Spending time with his family, visiting and playing cards was one of his favorite things to do. Bernie always had a kind word to say and brought a smile to everyone's face that knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Bernie passed away on Wednesday, June 10th at the age of 73.

Bernie is survived by two sisters, Bonita Adams (Butch), of Aurora, IN and  Ginger Bailey (Steve), of Rising Sun, IN. He is also survived by a niece, Kaitlyn Bailey, of Rising Sun, IN and by a nephew, Matthew Adams, of Madison, IN. Funeral services will be 2 PM, Saturday, June 13th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Br. Davon Huss officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 13th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora, IN.
