Bert Clingerman

Bert Clingerman, 83, of  Rising Sun, IN, passed away Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 at her residence. Bert was born in Hamilton, OH on June 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Hazel Elsie (White) and Wilbur Charles Brickner. Raised in Harrison, graduating from Harrison High School Class of 1955. She went on to receive her bachelor's degree in social work from Mt. St. Joe University.  She was employed as a social worker with the Head Start Program and the Council on Aging, she truly enjoyed interaction with people of all ages. Bert later worked as a trust fund stock broker for Fidelity Investments from age 55 to 70. Bert was an avid reader and enjoyed the Arts taking advantage of much that Cincinnati has to offer.  She spent much of her time with her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her long time and new friends. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish, a former member of the 4-H Ohio County Fair Board, Community Mental Health Center Board of Directors, and the local Home Economic Club. She also enjoyed volunteering for Tall Stacks and the Cincinnati Pops.

Bert was survived by her daughters, Lynda Ott of Morning View, KY, Gail Clingerman of Rising Sun, IN, and Anne Clingerman of Rising Sun, IN;  brother Albert Brickner of Land of Lakes, Fl; grandchildren Brad Baldwin (Ricki Jones), Lori (Jake) Goodwin, Amy (Jack) Davies, Bryan Baldwin (Courtney Rose), Caitlin Ott, and Weston Ott, and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Brickner.  

A public visitation will be held Thursday, May 6th, from 5 -8 PM at the Markland Funeral Home with private burial to follow at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio County Public Library.
