Betty L. (Jackson) Ballard, 83, of Greendale, IN (formerly of Rising Sun) passed away Wednesday, October 8th, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. Betty was born in Milan, IN on August 19, 1942, a daughter of the late Nadine (Gulley) Jackson and Clifford P. Jackson. Betty was the loving wife of Stanley Ballard. They were married on October 13, 1956. Betty's passing was just 5 days from their 69th wedding anniversary. Betty worked as an aide at The Waters of Rising Sun for 20 years. Betty also managed Rising Sun Extreme Fitness and Tan along with her son Dana who passed in 2011. She also operated the River Front Gift Shop in Rising Sun for a period of time. Betty was a faithful member of the Rising Sun Nazarene Church for many years. She enjoyed spending time reading her bible and tending to her flowers. Betty loved the company of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her husband, Stanley Ballard, of Greendale, IN; by her two daughters, Debbie Chrisman (Marvin), of Lawrenceburg, IN and Kathy Scott, of Greendale, IN; by her three sons, David Ballard (Regina), of Patriot, IN; Kevin Ballard (Kerrie), of Greendale, IN and Steve Ballard, of Rising Sun, IN; by her grandchildren: Racheal, Janelle, Danielle, Chantel, Kayla, Alyssa, Michelle, Jackie, Lisa, Brandon, Tyler, Keegan, Michael and Mark; by 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by a sister, Linda Jackson Price, of North Bend, OH. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, by her brother, Donald Gene Jackson and by her son, Dana Lee Ballard.
Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, October 13th, 2025 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Family graveside services will follow at the Risiing Sun New Cemetery.
