Betty Jean Stogsdill, 87, of Quercus Grove, IN, passed away at 4:55 PM, Thursday, December 10th, at St. Elizabeth- Dearborn, Lawrenceburg, IN. Betty was born in Ohio County, IN on May 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Thelma (Lowe) and Claude Wainscott. She was a graduate of Patriot High School, Class of 1950. She worked as a lab technician for Thatcher/Anchor Glass for 45 years, retiring in 1998. On October 22, 1949 Betty married Kindell Wayne Stogsdill, who passed on May 22, 2012. Betty enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, watching Nascar, and cheering on her grandson, Gary Wayne, at his motorcycle races.
Betty is survived by son Gary Stogsdill (Mary) of Quercus Grove, IN; sister-in-law June Wainscott of French, IN; grandchildren Gary Wayne Stogsdill (Tracie) of Quercus Grove, IN, Eric Stogsdill (Mary) of Vevay, IN, Lisa McNeely (Doug) of Quercus Grove, IN, Julie Knippenburg (Alice) of Florence, IN, and Jennifer Coy of East Enterprise, IN; great-grandchildren Cody McNeely (Brittany) of Center Square, TX, Christian Stogsdill of Abilene, TX, Josie Stogsdill of Vevay, IN, Shelby Stogsdill of Quercus Grove, IN, Jack Stogsdill of Vevay, IN, Tyler Yeary of East Enterprise, IN, and Caitlyn Yeary of East Enterprise, IN; great-great grandchild Raylan McNeely.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by brother Billy Leon Wainscott.
Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 15th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Funeral will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 16th at Markland Funeral home followed by burial at the Rising Sun New Cemetery with Pastor Mike Jones officiating.
