Carolyn Ann (Peters) Jones, 84, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on Friday, July 19th, 2024 at Chesterwood Continuing Care in West Chester, OH. Carolyn was born in Rising Sun, IN on August 17, 1939, a daughter of the late Genevieve M. (Thies) Peters and William A. Peters. She grew up in the Ohio County Community and was a 1957 graduate of Rising Sun High School. She also attended the Rising Sun Church of Christ in her youth. Carolyn was employed as a clerk for many years at the Standard Oil Company of Ohio (SOHIO) in Cincinnati, OH. She was an avid golfer and loved the opportunity to play whenever she could. Carolyn was also talented at several types of crafts and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Carolyn is survived by 2 stepsons, Merwin R. Jones III and wife Nora, of Loveland, OH and Bradley D. Jones and wife Frances, of West Chester, OH; by her granddaughter, Elizabeth Waye (Bryan); by her grandsons, Brian Jones (Emily), Matthew Jones (Laura) and Kevin Jones; by her great grandchildren: Ashleigh, Chancellor, Nathan, Dillon, Carter, Luke, Calvin, Kylie, Ethan, Owen, Oliver, Parker, Crosley, Ruby, Clara and William and by her great great granddaughter, Azena. Carolyn is also survived by her brother, John Edwin Peters and wife Saundra, of Rising Sun, IN; by her sisters, Nancy Hopper, of Rising Sun, IN and Sherry Lawrence, of Lawrenceburg, IN and by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, July 26th, 2024 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Eldon Fancher officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Friday, July 26th, 2024 at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
