Carson Robert Craig

Carson Robert Craig, 89, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 1:00 AM, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Majestic Care of North Vernon, North Vernon, IN. Carson was born in Cincinnati, OH on October 13, 1932, a son of the late Elvera (Bauer) and Robert L. Craig. Carson was employed as a truck driver and worked well into his 80's before retiring. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On September 5, 1953, he was married to Bette Mae (Linz). They were married for over 68 years until his passing. Carson was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. Carson enjoyed caring for the animals on his farm and his dog, Oliver, and was known for being a very hard worker.

    Carson is survived by his wife, Bette Mae Craig of Rising Sun, IN; sons Greg Craig of CO and Andrew Craig of Milan, IN; daughters Mary Ann Blevins of Rising Sun, IN and Roxanna Owens of Rising Sun, IN; brother Robert B. Craig (Ellen) of Batavia, OH; sister Vera Ann Vaughn (Darrell) of Lebanon, OH; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Craig.

    A public visitation will be held Sunday, December 12th, from 10 AM - 12 PM at the Markland Funeral Home. Funeral will be December 12th at 12 PM at the Markland Funeral Home with burial to follow at the North Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
