Cecil Eugene Wallace passed away on January 19, 2021, at 68 years old, and surrounded by the love of his family at University of Cincinnati Hospital, Ohio.
Cecil was raised in Aurora, IN by his mother Clara Baker Wallace Burris, father Francis Cecil Wallace, and step father Frank Burris. Cecil graduated from Aurora High School in 1971. He went on to get several certificates, awards, and etc. from his trade as a machinist and toolmaker for Stedmans, American Racing, and General Electric (which he retired from in 2015).
Married to the love of his life for almost 50 years, Cecil is survived by his high school sweetheart, Judy Sigmon Wallace. Cecil is deeply loved and leaves behind 2 daughters and son-in-laws, Kimberly (Chuck) Jacobs and Belinda (Josh) Eldridge, and 4 grandchildren, Kaylei Eldridge, Gabrielle Eldridge, Corbin Jacobs, and Trevor Steiner (Kaylei's fiance). He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Jeff Burris, Robert (Katrina) Burris, Vickey (Fred) Bentley, and Connie Eggleston, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cecil will be remembered for his great personality, kind heart, overwhelming strength, and his ability to tell many stories. His passion was hunting and he loved to catch a fish or two, but most of all, his greatest joy was his family. Cecil also enjoyed being a grandpa, where he was a softball coach, hunting buddy (more sleeping than hunting), and our biggest fan at band competitions! He taught us all how to do something in our lives, but most of all to live life and love to the fullest!
Cecil was received in heaven by his mother, father, step-father, mother-in-law Gladys Sigmon Alford, and father-in-laws Robert Sigmon and Edwin Alford. In addition he was greeted by his brother-in-laws Sam Eggleston, Mike Sigmon, Dennis Sigmon, and Joe Ammons, and his sister-in-law Janie Ammons.
Friends and family are asked to join us to celebrate Cecil's life on Sunday January 24, 2021 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, Indiana, visitation 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM with funeral to follow at 4:00 PM. Burial will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Laughery Valley Fish and Game Club, which is based in Versailles, IN where Cecil was a member for many years and taught hunter's education.
