Charles Eugene "Chuck" Richey, 67, of Aurora, IN, passed away on Friday, September 27th, 2024 at his home. Chuck was born in Marion, IN on January 9, 1957, a son of the late Mary Gladys (Shipp) Richey and Charles Gerald Richey. He was a graduate of Marion High School, Class of 1975. He was the husband of Kathy Lynn (Ward) Richey. They were married on September 11, 1976 at the Church of the Brethren In Marion, IN. Chuck and Kathy were married 48 years until his passing. Chuck retired from being a foundry supervisor, an industry he worked in for over 30 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed ice fishing, doing yard work and cooking with his smoker. Chuck was a fan of college sports, especially Notre Dame football and IU basketball. He also enjoyed watching Little League world series baseball and college girls softball. However, spending time and playing with his grand kids is what he loved most. Chuck is survived by his wife, Kathy, of Aurora, IN; by his daughter, Jennifer Michelle (Richey) Lyon and husband Mark, of Rising Sun, IN; by his son, Joshua Aaron Richey, of Aurora, IN; by grandchildren: Carsten Gronberg, Bexley Lyon, Kass Bilingsley, Logan Lyon and Ty Lyon and by a great granddaughter, Ellie Brewer. Chuck is also survived by two sisters, Jodi (Bill) Almack, of Ligonier, IN and Marla (Tom) Moore, of Marion, IN; by special niece, Shelly (Jeremy) Rodabaugh, of Marion, IN; by sister-in-law, Cindy (Larry) Korporal, of Marion, IN; by brother-in-law, Richard (Dorine) Ward, of Sweetser, IN and by many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be 6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 1st at Markland Funeral Home.
