Charles Wayne Sigmon

Charles Wayne "Chuck" Sigmon, 84, of Florence, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021 at his residence. Chuck was born in Jefferson County, IN on June 3, 1937, a son of the late Gladys M. (Scudder) Sigmon and Wilford L. Sigmon. He grew up in Switzerland County and attended Patriot High School. Chuck proudly served his country in the US Army. Chuck married Frances Jane (Heaton) Sigmon on May 24, 1963 in Bedford, KY. Chuck and Frances were married over 58 years until his passing. He worked as a Supervisor at US Shoe and later Nine West in  Vevay, IN. He retired in 1993 after 43 years of service. Chuck was an avid collector of guns and knives. He was also an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing in his younger years. Chuck also had an appreciation for vintage cars. Above all, Chuck was a people person who never met a stranger. Chuck was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and good friend to many.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Frances Sigmon, of Florence, IN; by his two daughters, Machelle  Colen and husband Tim, of Fairview, IN and Gwen Hite and husband Joey, of Patriot, IN; by his granddaughter, Ashley Rose and husband Brandon; by his grandson Joseph Hite and fiancee Whitney Chipman and by his great grandson Wyatt Rose. Chuck is also survived by two sisters, Martha Keith, of Center Square, IN and Ruth Ann Keith, of Dillsboro, IN and by a brother, Jerry Sigmon and wife Diane, of Lamb, IN.
 
Graveside Services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, August 25th at New Liberty Cemetery in East Enterprise, IN with Pastor Patrick Lanman officiating.
