Cindy Sue (McCracken) Jones

Cindy Sue (McCracken) Jones, 66, of Greendale, IN, formerly of Aurora, IN, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Cindy was born on May 17, 1957 in Lawrenceburg, IN, a daughter of Robert and Agatha (Peters) McCracken. Cindy was a graduate of the Aurora High School Class of 1975. On March 15, 1997, she was married to George Jones, who preceded her in death on September 4, 2017. Cindy was a devoted mother and grandmother. In her younger years, she was a talented homemaker, creating a wonderful home for her children to grow up in and then in her later years, she continuously opened her home and heart to her grandchildren and other family members that she loved so dearly. Cindy’s family truly was her pride and joy. Cindy also found joy by cooking excellent meals and being very passionate about playing bingo.

Cindy is survived by sons Bryan McCracken (Sandra) of Greendale, IN and Ryan McCracken (Jessica) of Greendale, IN; daughters Sharon Berkley (Brian) of Patriot, IN and Kristine Upton (Matt) of Dillsboro, IN; brothers Robert McCracken and Mark McCracken; sisters Lee Elliot, Laurie Campbell, and Connie Green; sister-in-law Imogene Redmon; grandchildren Ryan McCracken, Megan McCracken, Zach McCracken, Sky McCracken, Courtney McCracken, Mariah Robbins, Trenton Robbins, Bryan (Biddle) McCracken, Randy Knopf, Sadie Upton, Kayla Upton, Hayden Upton, Jake Upton, Lexus Couch, Demetrie Liapis, Jason Colen, David Colen, Jonathon Jones, Alex Jones, and Searcy Jones; 12 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by husband George Jones and parents Robert and Agatha McCracken.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 6th, at the Markland Funeral Home from 11 AM – 1 PM. Funeral will be Monday, November 6th, 1 PM at the Markland Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
