Clarence Edward Jacobs III “Chuck”, 51, of Greendale, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by the love of his family, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. He was born on September 11, 1974, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Chuck was the beloved son of Clarence Jacobs II, “Chuck” and Iona Faye (Abshear) Jacobs. He grew up in Amelia, Ohio, where he built strong roots and lifelong friendships.
On April 8, 2005, Chuck married the love of his life, Kim Jacobs, and together they built a life centered on love and family.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Jacobs; his son, Corbin Jacobs; his mother-in-law, Judy Wallace; his sister-in-law, Belinda (Clinton “Josh”) Eldridge; his nieces, Kaylei (Trevor) Steiner and Gabby Eldridge (Noah Jackson); and his great-niece and great-nephew, Emerson and Ridley Steiner, and many other family and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Jacobs II “Chuck” and Iona Faye (Abshear) Jacobs, and his father-in-law, Cecil Wallace, his grandparents, and other family members.
Chuck dedicated much of his life to hard work and service. He worked in playground and park construction, helping build spaces where families and children could gather and make memories. He also worked at Bath Fitters and spent several years in logistics. Beyond his work, Chuck gave back to his community as a band booster vice president, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and a constant helping hand to those in need. He also coached his son’s baseball and football teams, leaving a lasting impact on many young athletes, and partnered with his son in Tae Kwon Do.
He had a deep love for the outdoors. Chuck enjoyed fishing, camping, building things with his hands, and watching sports, especially cheering on his favorite teams, the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. He was known as one of their biggest fans.
Chuck will be remembered for his kind heart, his willingness to help others, and his love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family kindly asks that those attending the funeral wear Cincinnati Reds or Cincinnati Bengals attire in honor of Chuck’s lifelong love for his teams.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 18th 2026 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made towards funeral expense.
