Constance "Connie" Joan Ernst

Constance Joan "Connie" Ernst, 74, of Lawrenceburg, IN (formerly of Rising Sun, IN) passed away at 4:35 PM, Thursday, March 24th, at St. Elizabeth Dearborn. Connie was born in Cincinnati, OH on October 10, 1947, a daughter of the late Bettie Angela (Daugherty) Ernst and John  William Ernst. She was a 1965 graduate of Mt. Notre Dame High School in Reading, OH. Connie proudly served her country as a Corpsman in the US Navy and was a former VFW and American Legion member in Cincinnati. After her return from service, Connie went on to receive her nursing degree from the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in 1981. She worked worked as a RN at various hospitals and nursing homes around Cincinnati over the years and also held the position of nursing home administrator. Connie retired to Rising Sun where she made close friends and liked going the riverboat. She also enjoyed painting and placing rocks with her friend Bonnie for their "Rock On Rising Sun" project.

Connie is survived by her brother, William Chase Figg, of Lawrenceburg, IN; by dear friends, Bonnie Carrigan and Saundra Courter, of Rising Sun, IN and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and boat friends. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and by two sisters, Terri Lynn Rose and Mary Ernst.

Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 29th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM at Markland Funeral Home with Eldon Fancher officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date at Cedar Hedge Cemetery in Rising Sun, IN.
