David Michael Greive

David Michael "Mike" Greive, 69, of French, IN, passed away on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 at his residence. Mike was born in Batesville, IN on February 1, 1957, a son of the late Patricia (Bickers) Hornsby and David Fredrick Greive. Mike grew up along Laughery Creek and was a 1976 graduate of Aurora High School. Mike was the husband of Norma J. (Bishop) Greive. They were married on July 8, 1995 in Gatlinburg, TN. Mike and Norma were married nearly 31 years until his passing. Mike worked as an electrician and retired from The Electrical Connection in Lawrenceburg, IN after several years of employment. Mike was also a 25 year member of the Aurora Eagles. Mike liked history and enjoyed going artifact hunting. He spent some time farming with his dad and always had an appreciation for Farmall tractors. Mike loved his time spent by the creek, especially with good friends and his loving family.

Mike is survived by his wife, Norma Greive, of French, IN; by his sons, Brian Greive and Chris Messerschmidt; by his daughter, Cassie Sinha; by his stepson, Joseph Trembly; by his stepdaughters, Jessica Hyden and Samantha Nieto; by his grandchildren: Jonathan Messerschmidt, Logan Messerschmidt, Luca Sinha, Jai Sinha, Leslie Mathes, Tyler Mathes, Luna Trembly and Oliver Trembly; by his great grandson, Wyatt Messerschmidt; by his sisters, Debbie Seaver (Ron), of Aurora, IN, Pam Jackson (Rick), of Connersville, IN, Bonnie Protzman, of Annapolis, MD and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many friends.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 27th, 2026 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be held 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 27th at Markland Funeral Home. Memorial donations in Mike's honor may be made to the American Cancer Society.
