Dawn Rae (Stopher) Michael

Dawn Rae (Stopher) Michael, 56, of Milan, Indiana, passed away August 6, 2026 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, Indiana. Dawn was born on  September 3, 1969 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, a daughter of Charles Stopher and Donna Palmer. Dawn attended school in Rising Sun and was a graduate of the Rising Sun High School Class of 1987. She went on to obtain her associate’s degree in medical assisting and was employed in housekeeping for several years and other roles at Grand Vic / Rising Star Casino. Dawn had one daughter, Isabel, who Dawn loved and cherished with her whole heart. Dawn enjoyed spending time with Isabel, whenever and however she could, especially going shopping and antiquing. Dawn also had a knack for and found fun in playing slot machine apps on her phone. Dawn also greatly enjoyed spending time with her mother, Donna, and her beloved sisters Susan, Mindy, and Charlene. 

Dawn is survived by her mother, Donna Palmer (James) of Milan, Indiana; daughter Isabel Kroner of Milan, Indiana; sisters Susan Johnson (Danny) of Vevay, Indiana, Mindy Ragan (Tim) of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and Charlene Collins (Paul) of Richmond, Indiana.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father Charles Stopher.

A celebration of life will be held at the Markland Funeral Home on Thursday August 13th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
