Deborah Kay (Batchelor) Teke

Deborah Kay "Debbie" Teke, 69, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn, Lawrenceburg, IN. Deborah was born in Batesville, IN on March 30, 1953, a daughter of the late Marie (Hess) and Perry  Batchelor. Debbie was a graduate of the Aurora High School Class of 1971. On June 10, 1972, she was married to Timmy Teke. They were married for over 50 years until her passing. She was a member of the Rising Sun United Methodist Church. Debbie loved her fur babies and was passionate about doing hair. After obtaining her cosmetology license, she went on to operate her own shop, A Cut Above.

In addition to her husband, Timmy Teke of Rising Sun, IN, Debbie is survived by son Joe Teke (Sally) of Aurora, IN; daughter Stacy M. Levi (Stacy L.) of Rising Sun, IN; brother Kenny Batchelor of Lawrenceburg, IN; sisters Donna Batchelor of Aurora, IN and Karrie Werner of Milan, IN; grandchildren Devan Levi (Alexius) of Rising Sun, IN, Dylan Levi of Rising Sun, IN, Tobie Teke of Aurora, IN, Brodie Teke of Aurora, IN, Makenzie Teke of Aurora, IN, and Macie Teke of Aurora, IN; as well as several nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Perry Wayne Batchelor.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM - 1 PM Tuesday March 21st at Markland Funeral Home. Funeral will be 1 PM Tuesday March 21st at the Markland Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rising Sun Fire Department or Rising Sun United Methodist Church.
