Dennis D. Elliott

Dennis D. Elliott was born in Cincinnati, OH on May 22, 1963, a son of the late Bonnie Gail (Wullner) and Larry George Elliott. He grew up in Ohio County on the family farm and was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1981, and went on to receive his BA in Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University. On August 14th, 1987 at the Greendale Church of Christ, Dennis married the love of his life, Angela "Angie" (Cummins) Elliott. Dennis and Angie were married over 32 years until his passing. Their marriage was blessed by 3 daughters; Shelby, Sydney and Macy. Dennis was a loving father and coached all of his girls in fast-pitch softball. Dennis lived by the motto "work hard - play hard" and this was a trait he passed on to his girls. Dennis believed that hard work paid off. He was employed at Hill-Rom and Monsanto/Bayer before opening up Sunrise Stor. & Lock along with his father in 2002. Dennis was also former owner of East Enterprise Store & Lock and managed the Rising Sun Store & Lock along with rental properties. Dennis was a man of faith and grew up in the Rising Sun United Methodist Church and currently enjoyed attending Trinity Christian Center in Lawrenceburg, IN. Dennis was a member of the Rising Sun Regional Foundation. Dennis still enjoyed farming and raising sweet corn. He loved to travel and take cruises with family and friends and liked watching sports. Dennis was loved and respected because he believed that you treat others with respect, no matter what. Dennis passed away on Monday, April 13th, 2020 at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH at the age of 56.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Angie Elliott, of Rising Sun, IN; by three daughters, Shelby Cole and husband Joe, of Rising Sun, IN, Sydney Elliott, of Rising Sun, IN and Macy Elliott, of Rising Sun, IN. Dennis's family was blessed with the birth of his grandson, Elliott Cole on April 16, 2020. Dennis is also survived by a sister, Tonda Wagoner (Greg Winkler), of Anderson, IN; by nephews, Dan and Marc Wagoner; by uncle, Gene Elliott and wife Jill; by uncle, Bill Wullner and wife Shirley; by father & mother-in-law Shelby and Pam Cummins; by brother-in-law, Casey Cummins and by many loving cousins, other family members, and a host of friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Larry & Bonnie Elliott and by grandparents, Roy & Marguerite Elliott and Ivan & Edith Wullner.

Private family services will be held on Monday, April 20th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Corey Potts officiating. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Christian Center or Ohio County Community Foundation in Dennis's memory (checks payable to OCCF).
