Derrick La-Braun Brown

Derrick La-Braun Brown, 57, of Carrollton, KY, passed away at on Friday, November 3rd, 2023 at Norton Hospital in Louisville,KY. Derrick was born in Covington, KY on September 19, 1966, a son of the late Betty Jean (Jones) Brown and Henry C. Brown, Jr. Derrick grew up in the Warsaw, KY community. He worked mainly as a farm hand for local farmers. He put in a lot of hard hours working in tobacco or any other job asked of him. Derrick was a member of the Consolidated Second Baptist Church in Warsaw, KY.
Derrick was the husband of Sonya  (Hearn) Brown. They were married on January 19, 2010.

In addition to his loving wife Sonya, Derrick is also survived by two sons, Derrick Ingram and Tyrese Brown; by 2 grandchildren; by four sisters, Nanci Brown (Timothy Sullivan)Janice Brown, Jeanette Brown and Kendra Stott (Glenn) and by many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Henrika Brown.
 
Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 9th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the family for funeral expense. marklandfuneralhome.com
