Diane (Phelps) Salyers

Laura Diane Salyers, 75, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Friday, November 11th, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Diane was born in Pulaski County, KY on September 23, 1947, a daughter of Helen (Bales) Phelps, of Rising Sun, IN and the late Orville Lee Phelps. Diane married Carroll Dwain Salyers on January 22, 1971. Diane and Carroll were married 23 years until his passing on July 27, 1994. Diane retired from Continental Plastics in Cincinnati, OH where she worked in quality control for 33 years. Diane was a faithful member of the Grant's Creek Baptist Church and loved her church family. Diane's world revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved attending their concerts, sporting events or any activity they were involved in.

Diane is survived by her mother, Helen Phelps, of Rising Sun, IN; by her son, Terry Salyers (Terri Ann), of Rising Sun, IN by her daughter, Eva Renee Stayton (David), of Okeana, OH; by her stepson, Wayne Salyers, of Milan, IN; by her beloved grandchildren: Melissa (Ryan) Whitman, Tara Ross, Josh, Kyle, & Stephanie Phelps, Jacob (Brittney) & Nick (Sierra) Salyers, Sydney, Samantha, Olivia, & Chris Stayton; by her cherished great grandchildren: Alex, Calleigh, Madilyn, Sage, Jacob, Jayson, Easton, Tucker, Trevor, Henry, Lane, & Liam. Diane is also survived by three sisters, Vickie Shelton, of Cincinnati, OH;  Nina Dickerson, of Cincinnati, OH and  Julie Courter (Donnie), of Rising Sun, IN. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Orville Lee Phelps, by her husband, Carroll Dwain Salyers, by her son, Bruce Phelps, by her stepson CD Salyers and by her brother, Marvin Phelps.
 
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 15th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Patrick Bujak officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 15th at Markland Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 16th at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loving Hearts Hospice.
