Donald L. Andrew

Donald Lynn Andrew, 75, of Dillsboro, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn in Lawrenceburg, IN. Don was born in Madison, IN on November 4, 1946, a son of the late Jean (Heath) Andrew and Stanley  Andrew. Don was a graduate of Madison High School, Class of 1964. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Oakland City University and his Master's Degree from IUPUI. He acquired more hours of education from Xavier University. Don ran track in high school and college. He went on to have a 20 year career as a Physical Education Teacher at Dillsboro, South Ripley and Sunman schools. After teaching, Don operated the Aurora Tire Center in Aurora, IN for 31 years.  Don also loved farming and was a very active supporter of the local 4-H program over the years. He was an adventurous outdoorsman and possessed a pilot's license and enjoyed scuba diving. Don was the husband of Judith (Brown) Andrew, who survives him. Don and Judy were married on March 24th, 1967 at the General Baptist Church in Owensville, IN. They were together nearly 55 years until his passing. Don was a loving husband and father and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

In addition to his beloved wife Judy, Don is  survived by his two sons, Michael Andrew and wife Melissa, of Rising Sun, IN and  Jeff  Andrew and wife Jacki, of Chippewa Falls, WI; by his 8 cherished grandchildren: Claire, Katie, Emily, Julian, Jaylynn, Joelle, Hazel and Jude. Donald is also survived by a sister, Judy Smith and husband Dave, of Madison, IN and by sister-in-law, Jeanette Andrew, of Vevay, IN. Don was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Johnny Andrew.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Wednesday, February 9th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Thursday, February 10th at Markland Funeral Home with Brother Davon Huss officiating. Burial will be held later at Vevay Cemetery.
