Donald Scudder Obituary


Donald Wayne Scudder was born in Milan, IN on October 16, 1949, a son of the late Mary Elizabeth (Bailey) and Ezra "Jack" Scudder. He was the husband of Barbara Rae (Warner) Scudder. They were married on September 12, 1968. Donald and Barbara were married over 51 years until his passing. They were blessed with 5 children: Lisa Miller (Ryan Gaylord), Lora Pangborn (Dennis), Cheryl Godwin (Calvin), Donald R. Scudder, Sr. (Taffy) and Sandra Flynn (Gary). They have 20 grandchildren, 6 grandchildren-in-law and 15 great grandchildren with one on the way. Donald is also survived by three sisters, Roberta Barton, Evelyn Smith and Donna Mae Edwards and by three brothers, Harold Scudder, Carroll David Scudder and Richard Scudder. He was preceded in death by his parents, by by brothers Bud and Ronald Scudder and infant sister Leona Scudder. Donald worked at Randall-Textron in Vevay, IN for a little while, Holsum Bakery in Fort Wayne, IN for 31 years and Hilltop Basic Resources in Patriot, IN for 17 years. He enjoyed almost 4 years of retirement. Donald liked gardening, reading, fishing, hunting, napping and spending time with his dog Sadie. Donald passed away in his sleep, early in the morning on March 30, 2020 at his home.
Private family services will be held on Thursday, April 2nd at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Rev. Jim Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at Vevay Cemetery in Vevay, IN.
