Ellen Ann (Waldon) Snelling

Ellen Ann (Waldon) Snelling was born in Aurora, IN on February 28, 1940, a daughter of the late Anna (York) and Perry  Waldon. Ellen grew up in the Aurora community and attended Aurora High School. She was the wife of Donald Ray Snelling. They were married on January 11, 1958 at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ by Rev. Fogle. Ellen and Donald were married over 62 years until her passing. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. She was also a former member of the Happy Homemakers Club. Ellen and her husband Donald were instrumental in starting the Parkinson's Class at the Aurora Recreation Community Center. Ellen enjoyed gardening and canning what she grew. Ellen was a dedicated and loving wife, mother. grandmother and great grandmother. Ellen passed away on Monday, June 22nd, 2020 at Shady Nook Care Center in Lawrenceburg, IN at the age of 80.

 Ellen is  survived by her husband, Donald Ray Snelling, of Ohio County, IN; by a daughter, Donna White, of Ohio County, IN; by two sons Michael Snelling (Cindy), of Ohio County, IN and  Jerry Snelling (Carla), of Brandon, FL; by grandchildren:Jeremy Ray Foster (Rose), Nathan Wayne Foster (Katie), Holly Marie Snelling, Tiffany Michelle Lane (Mitch), Stacy Marie Snelling, Scott Raymond Snelling and Christopher William Snelling; by great grandchildren: Rave, Kymberly, Kylie, Damien, Hunter, Samuel, Annais, Nathan Jr., Jacob, Savannah, Bladen and Tanner. Ellen is also survived bya sister, Lois Fairfield (Clyde), of Milan, IN. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, by 2 grandsons, Joseph Michael Foster and Matthew Snelling; by bothers, Melvin Waldon, Denton Waldon and Perry Waldon Jr.; by sisters, Louise Crosthwatie and Kathryn Mix.
 
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 25th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Brother Davon Huss officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 11 AM - 1 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora, IN.
