Floyd Allen Tinsley, 67, of Aurora, IN, passed away at 5:55 PM, Monday, August 23rd, at St. Elizabeth Dearborn, Lawrenceburg, IN. Floyd was born in Milan, IN on July 11, 1954, a son of the late Bettie Jean (Brooks) and Olen B. Tinsley. He attended school in Rising Sun and obtained his GED. He was employed as a factory worker at Alton Box until its closing and then worked at Packaging Unlimited. On August 17, 1974, he was married to Deborah June McIntosh. Floyd was a member of the Aurora Eagles. He enjoyed watching Nascar, cheering on whoever was driving a Ford, and was known for being an excellent repairman and for having a green thumb and sharing his bounty of vegetables out of his garden every year.
In addition to his wife, Floyd is survived by brother Dennis Tinsley, sisters Connie Tinsley and Barbara Tinsley, mother-in-law Ruby McIntosh, as well as many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by father-in-law Alvin McIntosh.
A public visitation will be held Monday August 30 from 11 AM - 1 PM at the Markland Funeral Home. Funeral will be Monday August 30 at 1 PM with burial to follow at the Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family, checks made payable to Markland Funeral Home.
