Franklin Eugene Mitchell

Franklin Eugene Mitchell, 77, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Friday, February 7th, 2020 while in the company of family members, at his residence.  Frank was born in Ohio County, IN on July 15, 1942, a son of the late Mariam Beatrice (Bradon) and Edgar  Mitchell. Frank spent his youth in the Patriot area of Switzerland County. He retired from Pri-Pak Inc. in Greendale, IN after 30 years of service. Frank also worked at Anchor Glass in Greendale. He was the husband of America Hunter Mitchell. On May, 31, 2002, they were married at London, KY. Frank was a member of the Sunman, IN Sons of the American Legion and the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Frank was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also liked reading and watching old western movies on tv.  Frank's greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren Maddie, Troy and Zack and his great grandchildren Leo and Marlie.  Frank impacted everyone's life that he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed and his family loved him with all of their hearts.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, America Mitchell, of Rising Sun, IN; a daughter, Sharissa Mitchell, of Cincinnati, OH; a step son, Paul Hunter, of Lawrenceburg, IN;  by grandson, Troy Mitchell, of Cincinnati, OH; by grandson Zack Mitchell (CheyAnn), of Cleves, OH; by granddaughter, Madison Hunter, of Lawrenceburg, IN; by great grandchildren, Leo & Marlie Mitchell; by a brother, Ronnie Mitchell, of Bowling Green, KY; by special niece Stella Fish (Mike), of Rising Sun, IN and by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents; by brothers, Johnny, Gary and Raymond Mitchell; by sisters Bonnie Louden, Mary Murphy, Connie Montgomery and Sharon Mitchell.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM, Friday, February 14th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Eldon Fancher officiating. Visitation will be Friday 11AM-1PM at Markland Funeral Home. Interment will be at Greendale Cemetery in Greendale, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
