Gerry Allen Reamer

Gerry Allen Reamer, 75, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at 8:30 PM at The Waters of Rising Sun. Gerry was born on December 9, 1948 in Cincinnati, OH, a son of the late Walter "Tom" Allen Reamer and Francis Jean (Carpenter) Reamer. He was a graduate of the Lawrenceburg High School Class of 1968. Gerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy, working in parts distribution, self titling himself as the "shopkeeper" for the base. Following his military service, Gerry was also employed for GE for several years. On August 4, 1990, he was married to Bette Jo Newman. The couple shared over 34 years together in marriage until her passing on November 22, 2015. Gerry attended church at United Methodist in Greenville, OH. He was known for his artistic abilities in painting and drawing and also enjoyed watching westerns.

Gerry is survived by his sister Connie Hueber (William) of Rising Sun, IN; aunt Mary Elizabeth Howard-White (Gene) of Madison, IN; stepson Tim "Timmy" Bernard (Nancy); stepdaughters Patty "PJ" Boram (Kelly) and Christa "Chris" Hofestetter (Steve); as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cousins.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents Francis Jean and Walter "Tom" Allen Reamer; wife Bette Jo Reamer; aunt Marjorie McCloud; and uncle Donald Carpenter.

Graveside services will be held February 28, 2024 at 2 PM at the Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Welcome Home Warriors, donations to be used for the benefit of the Southeastern Indiana Veterans Museum.
