Gloria Jean Bloomer

Gloria Jean Bloomer, 70, of Rising Sun, IN passed away on Saturday, January 11th, 2020 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Gloria was born in Hamilton, OH on October 22, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Clifford & Virginia Jean (Rice) Joskem.  Gloria was a graduate of Garfield High School, class of 1968 and  received her Bachelor's Degree from Miami University. She was a Registered Nurse for several years and last worked at Interim Health Care in Lawrenceburg, IN. Gloria was a faithful member of Disciples Christian Church in Hamilton, OH. She served on the church board and volunteered for Serve City Chosen which provides meals for the homeless. Gloria married Terrance Bloomer on September 26, 1980. Gloria and Terrance were married over 39 years until her passing. Gloria's life was centered around her family and church. She also enjoyed fishing whenever she got the chance. Gloria is survived by her husband, Terrance Bloomer, of Rising Sun, IN; by a daughter, Angela Shanholtzer, of Harrison, OH; by two sons, Wendell Jones (Carla), of Rising Sun, IN and Matt Bloomer (Joscelyn), of Lafayette, IN; by grandchildren: Jasmine Hounchell, Cliff Shanholtzer (Krystin), Payton Creech, Terrance Jones, Tyler Jones (Tiffani), Jenna Bloomer and Erin Bloomer; by great grand children: Tanner, Leland, Rocket, Hunter, Ellie, Aaliyah, Kameron, Noah,and James. She is also survived by many other family members and friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter & Mabel Rice; by her parents, Clifford & Virginia Joskem and by her granddaughter, Gretchen Bloomer.
 
Graveside services for Gloria will be 1 PM, Tuesday, January 14th at Rising Sun New Cemetery in Rising Sun, IN with Rev. Bonnie Goodwin officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of donor's choice. Markland Funeral Home of Rising Sun, In serving the family. marklandfuneralhome.com
