Holly Marie (Hussung) Sommer

Holly Marie Sommer, 69, of Bear Branch, IN, passed away on Tuesday, April 27th, 2021 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, IN. Holly was born in Milan, IN on November 9, 1951, a daughter of the late Patsy (Ricketts) Hussung and George  Hussung. Holly grew up in the Aurora community and was a graduate of Aurora High School, Class of 1969. On January 27, 1973 Holly married David E. Sommer. Holly and David were married over 47 years until his passing on September 11, 2020. Holly last worked as a cook at Grand Victoria Casino in Rising Sun, IN. She also had worked for McDonald's for several years. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Bear Branch, IN and was active in the woman's group there, when her health allowed. Holly also enjoyed reading.

Holly is  survived by two daughters, Stacie Ely and husband Eric, of Aberdeen, IN and
Stephanie King and husband Ronnie, of Patriot, IN; by 3 grandchildren, Taylor, Dakota and Cheyenne. Holly is also survived by a sister, Penny Hunt, of Dillsboro, IN and by a brother, Eric Hussung and wife Jodi, of Aurora, IN.
 
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, May 4th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Charles Hill officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, May 3rd at Markland Funeral Home. Burial Will be at the Marker-Althoff Cemetery in Bear Branch, IN.
