James William Bevis

James William Bevis, 84, of Florence, IN, passed away on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 at his residence. Jim was born in Harrison, IN on April 24, 1939, a son of the late May (Hundley) Bevis and William  Bevis. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Jim was employed at Campbell Hausfeld in Harrison, OH for over thirty years. He also worked as a truck driver and enjoyed farming. Jim loved being outdoors gardening, going to flea markets and working on his farm. He was the husband of Mildred L. (Messang) Bevis. They were married on September 6, 1996 in Vevay, IN. Jim is survived by a large loving family, including his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, other family members and many friends.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Thursday, November 9th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 9th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be at St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
