James Robert Gillispie

James Robert Gillispie, 75, of Aurora, IN, passed away on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 at his residence. James was born in Dearborn County, IN on November 28, 1945, a son of the late Hager (Combs) Gillispie and Omer  Gillispie. He attended Patriot High School in Patriot, IN. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. While in service, he received the following commendations: National Defense Service Medal, 1st Class Gunner (81 mm Motar) and Expert Rifle (Rifle M-14). Jim retired from King Wrecking in Cincinnati, OH where he worked as an equipment operator. He also formerly worked at Carlisle Construction. Jim enjoyed hunting and loved to go fishing. He made several trips to Alaska over the years.

James is survived by two brothers, Lenard Gillispie, of Greendale, IN and Carl Gillsipie, of Aurora, IN and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by brothers George and Ray Gillispie.
 
Visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 24th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Wednesday, November 24th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
