James Robert Wainscott

James Robert Wainscott, 84, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Monday, November 25th, 2024 at the home of his daughter. Jim was born in Cleves, OH on July 22, 1940, a son of the late Therese (Taylor) Wainscott and Gene  Wainscott. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Jim was a member of the Rising Sun American Legion Post # 59 and was a former Post Commander and had also served on the Color Guard. He was also a former member of the Rising Sun Masonic Lodge. Jim worked as a Union Carpenter and was also a truck driver. He loved classic cars, motorcycles and enjoyed playing the guitar. Jim is survived by his daughter, Theresa Scott (Andy), of Rising Sun, IN;  by a son,Robbie Wainscott; by  grandchildren: Brandon Cook (Sarah Storm), Brad Cook (Heather), Alyssa Devers (Kevin), Mackinsie Scott & Jake Scott and by great grandchildren: Braysen, Reese, Harper, Dean & Kolsen. Jim is also survived by a brother, Donnie Wainscott (Clair), of Saylor Park, OH. Jim was preceded in death by his  parents, by a son, Jimmy Wainscott, by a sister, Shirley Siezmore and by brothers, Rick West & Jack Wainscott
 

Graveside services with military honors will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cleves, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to the Ohio County Community Foundation towards the Denny Carrigan Scholarship (checks payable to OCCF). Markland Funeral Home of Rising Sun, IN serving the family.
