Jan Diane (Morningstar) Daniels

Jan Diane (Morningstar) Daniels, 83, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away  on Thursday, February 19th, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN. Jan was born in Normal, IL on July 20, 1942, a daughter of the late Iona (Forth) Morningstar and Graham  Morningstar. She was a graduate of Frankfort High School in Frankfort, IN. Jan also went on to cosmetology school and was a beautician for some time. Jan worked for several years in the medical office of Dr. Michael Grogan in Florence, KY. She formerly  attended Bethel Unity Baptist and most recently the Rising Sun Church of Christ. Jan had an affection for animals, especially dogs. Jan loved children and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much happiness. She also helped out with baby sitting duties at the church. 

Jan is  survived by her daughter, Gina Daniels, of Vevay, IN; by her grandchildren: Jabekki Seabolt (Denver Taylor), Katie Dixon and Ionabeth Bruce; by her great grandchildren: Kelsea, Kameron, Karsen, Kyle, Kanen, Kendall, Isaac, Lily, Peneolpe, Dean, AhLanie and Madi and by her 2 great great grandchildren: Xavier and Jimmy. Jan is also survived by a sister, Marty Morningstar, of Rising Sun, IN; by 2 nephews, Daniel Schmitt (Veronica) and Gary Morningstar; by nieces, Julie Nadaud (Michael) and Debbie Morningstar; by her great niece, Lynnde Munson and by her sister-in-law, Joyce Morningstar. Jan was preceded by her parents, by her husband Charlie Daniels, by her brother Gary L. Morningstar, by her great granddaughter Annabella and by her niece Deanna Morningstar.

Funeral services will be 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 26th, 2026 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, February, 26th at Markland Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Ohio County Animal Shelter.
