Jane Caryl (Burton) Hochstrasser

Jane Caryl Hochstrasser, 88, of Ohio County, IN, passed away on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 at her residence. Jane was born in Cincinnati, OH on November 11, 1934, a daughter of the late Virginia (Stegner) Wessels and John  Burton. She was a 1952 graduate of Western Hills High School. Jane was the widow of Andrew Ronald Hochstrasser who passed on October 10th, 2010. She was the hostess at the Treehouse Restaurant in Aurora, IN for several years. Jane also formerly worked as a realtor and bank teller. Jane was very artistic and enjoyed painting, quilting, knitting and sewing. Many of her family and friends possess one of her beautiful quilts. She was also an animal lover and at one time raised Persian cats. Being surrounded by her loving family is what she cherished most. Jane is  survived by two sons,  Jon Hochstrasser and wife Candy of Ohio county, IN and Tim Hochstrasser and wife Amy, also of Ohio County, IN; by grandchildren: Matt Hochstrasser, Brian (Lauren) Hochstrasser, Brittany (AJ) Phillippe, Courtney (Jarrod Albright)) Hochstrasser, Alex (Grace) Dennis and Brandon (Erin Webb) Browning; by great grandchildren: Logan, Maddy, Kessler, Brayson, Kellen, Tanner, Elliott, Sophia, Kian and Kolby; and by brother-in-law, Robin (Joan) Hochstrasser, of Lawrenceburg, IN. In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Scot Hochstrasser in 2018.
 

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Monday, June 26th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Rev. Jim Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 26th from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
