Janet Lee Walton, 81, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn in Lawrenceburg, IN. Janet was born in Hartford, IN on February 17, 1940, a daughter of the late Edna (Warner) Jackson and Leon Jackson. Janet married Robert "Bob" Caldwell on January 22, 1956. Three sons were born to this union; Jerry, Steve And Daryl. Bob passed away in 1987 and Janet later married Everett D. Walton on August 8, 1992. Everett preceded Janet in 2019. Janet was a homemaker and took great pride in providing a loving home to her family. She did work for awhile at Teaney's Grocery in Aurora, IN and later on at the Dillsboro Manor and Ross Manor nursing homes. Janet was baptized at and a member of the Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Dillsboro, IN. She and Everett also attended the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. Janet was a country music fan and enjoyed trips to Little Nashville, IN and Branson, MO. Janet loved to dance and liked being outdoors gardening, mowing and tending to the animals. She loved everything about the farm life.
Janet is survived by three sons: Jerry Caldwell and wife Judy, of Dillsboro, IN, Steve Caldwell and wife Shari, of Aurora, IN and Daryl Caldwell and wife Renee, of Bright, IN; by grandchildren: Lee Caldwell, Amy Caldwell, Kelly Caldwell, Alex Caldwell, Sam Caldwell, Maggie Caldwell, Cammi Caldwell and Reid Caldwell and by great grandchildren: Hayle and Adie Brashears. Janet is also survived by a sister, Phyllis Bischoff and husband Buster, of Dillsboro, IN. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, by her husbands Bob Caldwell and Everett Walton, by a brother Clarence Jackson and by her sister Jean Deamron.
Visitation will be held 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 30th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Funeral services will be at 12 PM at Markland Funeral Home with Brother Davon Huss officiating. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Dillsboro, IN. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
