JoAnn Couch

JoAnn Couch, 81, of Dillsboro, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 21st, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital. JoAnn was born in Petersburg, KY on September 5, 1943, a daughter of the late Ruth (Holt) Johnson and James Johnson. JoAnn was a woman of faith and looked forward to her Sunday morning church programs with Rev. Osteem and Rev. Johnson. JoAnn had an artistic side and enjoyed scrapbooking and making crafts and ceramics. She also liked spending time coloring on her iPad. Above all else, JoAnn loved spending time with her family, whether it be playing cards or any activity that brought them together. JoAnn was a loving mom, granny, sister and friend to many and will be deeply missed. JoAnn is survived by three daughters, Tina Lowe, of Dillsboro, IN, Roxanne Riley (Jim), of Bright, IN and Tammy Casey (Edward), of Dillsboro, IN; by three sons, Tulsa Henderson, of Aurora, IN,  Arbea "Boog" Couch (Tiesha), of East Enterprise, IN and Mark Couch, of Moores Hill, IN;  by grandchildren: Josh Lowe, Joanna White, James Riley, Jesse Riley, Carmen Ronnebaum, Megan Casey, Shoena Henderson, Daniel Henderson, Noah Henderson, Amber Herbert, Dustin Couch, Gage Couch, Hannah Couch, Ethan Couch, Whitney Couch, Mark Couch and Macey Couch; by 33 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and 5 more on the way. JoAnn is also survived by two sisters, Sharon Smith, of Dillsboro, IN and Susan Pope, of Dillsboro, IN and by a brother, Mike  Johnson, of Aurora, IN. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Arbea Couch, by a son, Herbert Eugene Henderson, by a sister, Diane Johnson and by brothers, Clarence McCool & Ray McCool.
 

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 26th, 2025 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Eldon Fancher officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 26th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Greendale Cemetery in Greendale, IN.
