Joshua Lee O'Connor

Joshua Lee O’Connor, 42, of Rising Sun, IN passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020 in Lawrenceburg, IN. Josh was born in Aurora, IN on May 26, 1977, a son of the late Pegan Lee O’Connor (Jackson) and Lee (Lee Bob) Patrick O’Connor. Josh grew up in Aurora, IN where he spent his days riding bicycles up and down John Street and his nights camping in the yard. You could also find Josh showering in a thunderstorm with a bar of soap. Ever since a young age, Josh had a fascination with tinkering with things and taking them apart; even taking apart the kitchen sink. In his adulthood, you could find Josh fishing with his beloved son, Colton or riding his RAZR. Many of his friends remember Josh’s karaoke singing to good old country music in his garage with the grill fired up and a drink in his hand. Josh loved anything outdoors including hunting, boating, camping, going on cruises and riding four wheelers. He also loved working on cars, both full size and RC and he had a wonderful woodworking ability he inherited from his late father.
Josh is survived by his loving partner of 24 years, Kelly Shamburger; his beloved son, Colton; his brother, Shawn O’Connor; his sister, Shana O’Connor (Sam Cross); his aunt, Debra Morris (Brad Morris); his uncle, Dickie Jackson (Pam Reece); many nieces, nephews and cousins and all his friends who were more like a family. Josh is preceded in death by his mother, Pegan O’Connor (Jackson); his father, Lee (Lee Bob) O’Connor; his paternal grandparents Bud and Dorothy O’Connor and his maternal grandparents Jackie and Betty Jackson. 
Funeral services will take place at 6 PM, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Family and friends will be received from 2-6PM. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
