Judith Ann (Stout) Hastings

Judith Ann "Judy" (Stout) Hastings, 84, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024 at the Waters of Rising Sun. Judy was born in Jefferson County, Indiana on May 12, 1940, a daughter of the late Freda M. (Vernon) Stout and Leo P. Stout. Judy grew up in Ohio County and was a 1958 graduate of Rising Sun High School. She was the wife of Rodney R. Hastings. Judy and Rodney were married on February 16, 1963 at the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ by Oscar Potter. They were married over 61 years until her passing. Judy retired from the Grand Victoria Casino in Rising Sun where she worked in ticketing and the Players Club. She also formerly worked at the Hoosier Horseman for Bob Hastings. Judy was a huge Elvis fan and had a large collection of his memorabilia. She thoroughly enjoyed watching and helping the Elvis impersonators that appeared at the casino. She also loved horses, she and Rodney showed them for several years. Judy was known for her sweet nature and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.  

Judy is survived by her husband, Rodney Hastings, of Rising Sun, IN; by her sister, Jeanie Liggett (Mick), of Rising Sun, IN; by her nephews, Rick Liggett (Michelle), of Hebron, KY and Mike Liggett of Quercus Grove, IN; by her niece, Shelley Johnson of Patriot, IN; by her grand nephews, Trace Johnson, Cannan Johnson, Briar Johnson, Jake Liggett, Brenden Liggett and Kreigh Liggett; by her great grand nephews, Ayden Liggett and Weston Liggett; and by her great grand niece, Adalynn Liggett. Judy is also survived by her sister-in-law, Karen Gibbens (Charles); by her nephews, Tim Gibbens and Michael Jackson and by her niece Tina Gibbens.
