Kenny Schurick

Kenneth Wayne "Kenny" Schurick, 69, of Rising Sun, IN, passed away on Friday, April 26th, 2024 at his residence. Kenny was born in Milan, IN on January 23, 1955, a son of Emily C. (Henry) Schurick and the late Paul F. Schurick. Kenny grew up in the Ohio County community and attended Rising Sun Schools. He was the husband of Helen R. (Brown) Schurick. Kenny and Helen married on September 14, 2012 in Patriot, IN.  Kenny proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines as a Sgt in the Vietnam War. While in service Kenny received a Rifle Expert Badge, a National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.  Kenny worked as an Iron Worker for many years. Kenny liked being outdoors, mowing grass and tending to his yard. He also enjoyed going to the Rising Sun American Legion where he was a member and spending time with friends .

Kenny is survived by his wife, Helen Schurick, of Rising Sun, IN; by his mother, Emily Schurick, of Madison, IN; by his brothers, Danny and Jeff and by his sisters, Terri and Renee. Kenny is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Paul Schurick and by his brothers, Jack, Charles and Steve Schurick.

Public graveside services with military honors will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 at Cedar Hedge Cemetery in Rising Sun, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the Rising Sun American Legion. Markland Funeral Home of Rising Sun, IN serving the family. marklandfuneralhome.com
