Larry Clifton Hastings, 83, of Moores Hill, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 at his residence. Larry was born in Ohio County, IN on July 4, 1937, a son of the late Florence (Clifton) Hastings and Ezra Stewart Hastings. Larry grew up in Ohio County and was a 1956 graduate of Rising Sun High School. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force Reserves. Larry was the loving husband of Carol (Jordan) Hastings. Larry and Carol were married on September 17th, 1993. Larry retired from the Anchor Glass Company in Lawrenceburg, IN, with over 40 years of service. He was a member of the Greendale First Church of Christ. Larry enjoyed coon & squirrel hunting and was a former member of the Ohio Valley Coon Hunters Club. He also liked fishing and trapping and anything to do with the outdoors. He also loved his dogs, Mork and Mindy. Larry had a great sense of humor and was an excellent storyteller.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Carol Hastings, of Moores Hill, IN; by his daughter, Dee Dee Helton (David), of Rising Sun, IN; by two sons Jeff Hastings (Liz), of Rockport, IN and Randy Hastings (Chris), of Okeana, OH; by a stepson, Steven Fuchs (Erin), of Brookville, IN and by a stepdaughter, Kim Barrows (Chad), of Moores Hill, IN. Larry is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Heather White, Kristin Rice, Rodney Hopkins, Jessica Hopkins, Allison Hastings, Lauren Stark, Deitrich Banschbach, Kilah Neu, Eli Helton, Paige Helton, Emily Fuchs, Steven Fuchs, Mason Schwass, Kaleb Barrows and Cody Barrows; by 12 great grandchildren: Kiya, Adin, Rodney, Rowan, Wyatt, Lucian, Wrynn, Clementine, Deacon, Kamden, Wade and Walker.
Funeral services will be 1 PM, Monday, March 8th at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN with Pastor Tim Russell officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, March 8th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Greendale First Church of Christ.
